Comments: Presq'ile remains our favourite camping spot. This was our third visit to this wonderful park this year. Camping in the fall is different and refreshingly quiet. We shared the park with about 3 dozen campers - many of them friends we had met over the last few years. There is something really nice about spending a cool evening sitting in front of a campfire, often with your 'neighbours' - sharing conversation and a good bottle of wine. The days were exceptionally warm for October - your's truly spent most of the time in shorts and T-shirt - highs in the mid 20's (high 60's - low 70's for you 'south-of-the-border' types). Most campers at this time of year are adults only, many retirees - and with the shortening days, campfires started early and the park was usually quiet by 10:00 pm - the silence disturbed only by the noisy geese heading to Gull Island and the occasional Loons making their presence known! Fall camping may be the best time of year to visit the park. Mind you.. nights can be cool so best have a heater in your camper or if tenting, warm blankets or a cosy partner <;^)-. Believe it or not.. on this trip we had occasion to use the air conditioner - quite the rarity for an October day! I hope next year turns out as well!!
