Fitzroy Park - May 24 - June 3d, site # 33 booked
Back to our "spring opening" park. We did not get to Fitzroy last year but this is the park where we get all the "winter bugs" (plus possibly wintering squirrels, mice whatever) out of the camper and equipment. This year it will be more important than usual what with a brand new camper and screen room to break in - brand new adventure! Fitzroy is just over ˝ hour from home so if anything needs fixing, easy enough to do! We like Fitzroy, quiet, great spring bass fishing, good boating, lots of walking/hiking trails and really nice during the "greening" season - not too many bears around. May have a "beer & BBQ" with guests invited.

Presquile Park - June 19 - July 1st, site # 78 booked
Back to our favourite park. Miles of paved roads and trails for biking or in-line skating. Great in June
before schools get out - not crowded. Huge sandy 2km long well-kept beach, Many deer & raccoons.
Renown bird watchers' paradise & Fantastic water-side "Bluff" campsites - we can "park" the boat
right beside our campsite on the water & the park is close to stores and restaurants.

Craigleith Provincial Park - July 8 - 11th, site # 311 booked
Time to visit "Family" again... back to Collingwood! Time to run over and check out Wasaga Beach - all 7 miles of it and it's renowned bathing beauties in the hundreds - possibly thousands at this time of year! (bring on the Visine..). Time to visit Jongs Chinese eatery in Stayner - really good food. Of course there is the Alpine Village on Blue Mountain and it's simply imperative to drag John & Cheryl out for some beer & vino - possibly a BBQ at the trailer. Of course.. the shale flats and indescribable sunrises and sunsets make the trip worthwhile in any event!

Presquile Park - July 21 - August 5, site # 75 booked
Obviously cannot get too much of this great park. Much of the attraction is the great number of camping friends we have made over the years - somewhat like a 'fraternity' - the shared campfires, early morning breakfasts at the park gate restaurant, and as many of them are ex-military types, many hours chatting about old escapades. The fact that the facilities at this campground are good, being located right on a bluff beside the water, superb biking, hiking and roller-blading trails, fantastic sunsets, 2 long km beach and hours of watching the deer frolic and 'cross over' to the islands - all this might have something to do with it too! <;^)-

Mew Lake - Algonquin - August 19 - 26th, site # 51 booked
Back to another favourite haunt - Algonquin Park, this time a new destination, Mew Lake. First time staying here but we have "explored" it many times. Our campsite is located lakeside on a small protected lake with sandy beach and good fishing (great bass & pickerel, some trout), we can boat right to the campsite - site is right on the lake itself - the old Mathews 'yacht' will get a workout here! The campground is located near the Park store close to Two Rivers Park off Hwy 60 - and adjoining a massive field of blueberries - and berry-hungry bears, but they do not bother anyone. The field used to be a war-time airfield, now deserted, also an old 20km railway rail bed acts as a great cycling path - well used by yours truly.

Presqu'ile Park - September 5th - 22nd, site # 75 Booked
What can I say - third visit here this summer - that almost says it all! School's back in, most of the "weekend campers" are back at work, things calm down a bit - time to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of this great park. More deer, more raccoons and the waves of migrating birds whistling past your campsite in huge "vee" formations - great time for binoculars and a good camera with a zoom lens! Grape ripening season too so another time to visit many of the 33 wineries in the area - as well as the numerous cafés and small quaint restaurants. This may be the 'roundup' of the camping season... but there's always October like last year and since the new trailer is fully winterized with good heaters - who knows...

Presqu'ile Park - - October 2nd - 7th, site # 75 againBooked
Once again... fourth visit here this summer - that really says it all! Just returned from the September trip - did not want to leave SO... booked in for a final summer/fall trip! September was great - of 18 days, one night of raim which means we had 17 campfire evenings and warm days - could not ask for more! Last fall in October, the weather was great and the turning leaves beautiful - we're hoping for the same this year!
