Big sites, less than 45 mins from home, quiet & great facilities & bike trails. Nearby conservation area has miles of marshland walking trails - deer, deer & more deer! The best park - huge sandy 2km long well-kept beach, many deer, raccoons - renown bird watchers' paradise! Fantastic water-side campsites, biker/hiker dreamworld - miles of trails & close to stores - our favourite park. Back to Sandbanks, our 2nd favourite park - great paved bike trails, beaches to die for - four of them & great bodysurfing waves, lots of countryside hiking, occasional topless bathing beauties don't hurt either! <;^)- A new park for us - in Algonqin not far from the Portage store - non motorized lake, big and private sites, lots of loons, deer, moose & the occasional wolf or bear - good biking and hiking & dog walking trails. Sites are huge - see the pics! Near the awesome 15km tower/trestle hiking trail - quite challenging! First time at Bonnechere, we checked it out in advance - rumours of a terrific beach are true - one of the best! Just outside Algonquin park, large sites, moose, deer, bear & wolf - good trails, good fishing & Bonnechere river to paddle. Great hiking/biking trails. Actually had a black bear visit our campsite - dumped a small "gift" last night there - we were warned though - "bear advisories" every day! Back to our favourite park - 3d time this year. Can't ever get too much of this waterside park. Stayed here in June - kiddies back to school, deer wandering around campsites & birds...birds...birds (& raccoons galore). This one is weather dependant of course. A new park for us, tried to get there last year, weather did not cooperate! We have seen our site, spacious & near the lake. Good fishing, boating, hiking & biking trails. Not too far from Perth. This trip should wrap up the camping season for us... but who knows?? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
